There is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Document controller to join a sucesful team based in Solihull.

Job Purpose:
To provide essential capability in the control, referencing, archiving, retrieval and distribution of documentation to the Partnering and Strategy team within the broader Carbon Capture and Storage team. The Document Controller will administer the proprietary data storage system providing access to internal team members and approved external parties. The development of document control systems is a key element of the role, together with the supervision and control of the documentation currently held within external contractor’s document control systems.

Principal objectives:
•Document control involves logging, tracking and status reporting of internal and external documentation to ensure timely availability to the project team and to maintain traceability for the life of the project.

Key Accountabilities
To support on-going initiatives to improve contract administration activities, focusing initially upon supporting activities to locate, review, reference and store key project documentation. This will ultimately deliver a robust document repository that is structured around the requirements of established contracts. Furthermore, it will facilitate future business requirements by allowing controlled access to approved third parties (i.e. data rooms).

The successful applicant will also be responsible for ensuring that all key project documentation is held within the internal document control system. This will require close interaction with both internal and external parties to identify appropriate documentation and to ensure effective and efficient transfer of completed Deliverables and/or Work Packages. This work will extend into ensuring that a robust process is established to ensure that all future documentation is appropriately captured within the document control system.

•CCS Team; Commercial Manager, Project Controls Lead and Technical Leads
•National Grid; Global Procurement, Legal and Capital Delivery
•External third parties; Subcontractors

Experience / qualifications
General:
•Proactive, self-starter that works under their own initiative and delivers to agreed timescales
•Strong organisation and relationship skills, including the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders (internal and external)
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a particular focus on attention to detail
•Ability to prioritise workload and complete tasks with the minimum supervision

Technical:
•Experience of Microsoft Office, Knowledge Tree and other supporting software packages
•Experience of monitoring and auditing document control activities, taking proactive steps to deliver on-going improvements to processes, templates and systems
•Understanding of the work flows associated with external design and R&D projects

Qualifications:
•Preferably educated to HNC level in business administration or equivalent
•Prince2 – Foundation & Practitioner would be an advantage but not essential
