New Manager appointment in Reading

Jark Recruitment has appointed a new manager of its Industrial branch in Reading, overseeing a team providing temporary staff for the food processing, warehousing and manufacturing industries.

Paul Fitzgerald joins Jark Industrial from a subsidiary of Lehman Bros, the American investment bank where he was the business development manager for the Midlands area, managing the specialist mortgage portfolio.

Jark Industrial managing director, Richard Morrissey says: “Paul brings with him a wealth of management and sales experience having spent 16 years within the financial services sector, the last five years within the sales fields as a highly successful business development manager for various mortgage lenders.

“It may seem odd at first, but the financial services industry is a great training ground for successful recruiters. Like our industry, it is strongly proceduralised, with a great deal of legislation. It’s heavily target-driven with a great deal of pressure, so the recruitment industry doesn’t come as a shock!

“With the continued expansion of Jark, we’re finding there’s a real shortage of good recruitment consultants and managers within our own industry and it’s refreshing to find someone of Paul’s experience and calibre. We’re confident that he’ll fit in with Jark’s entrepreneurial ethos and will lead the Reading team well.”

Outside work, Paul is a keen sportsman who can be found either hitting the weights in the gym or zigzagging his way across the golf course. He has also completed the New York Marathon and is fully-qualified scuba diver with experience diving in Mexico, Thailand, Spain, UK and the Great Barrier Reef.
