			<title>Senior Management Accountant </title>
			<description>My client is seeking a senior management accountant. The post holder will ensure that the Trust, through the Principal Management Accountant, is provided with relevant and timely financial information and advice and that both external and internal financial returns are undertaken in accordance with timetables. 

The Post holder will have management accounts responsibility for designated large / complex localities / directorates and other responsibilities such as Social Services and workforce planning.

Roles: Finance Director Head of Finance and Reporting Principal Management Accountant Executive Directors Trust Management Team Lead Clinicians / Clinical Directors Locality Managers / General Managers Senior Finance Team Strategic Health Authority/Monitor Social Services and Local Authority Members Internal and External Auditors Responsibilities/ Main Activities: Financial Control. Through the Principal Management Accountant, to ensure a consistent level of management accounting service is provided across all Localities / Directorates whilst maintaining and promoting the Trust's corporate identity. Through the Principal Management Accountant, to ensure the Trust meets its financial objectives.  
- To deputise for the Principal Management Accountant and other senior finance staff as necessary 
- To be the finance representative on the project team for certain Trust projects 
- To ensure comprehensive and timely monthly reporting of the Trust's financial position for designated complex and / or large localities / directorates 
- Through the Principal Management Accountant, to liaise with external providers and Senior Trust management to lead the development of key management accounts financial systems to ensure the Trust can operate effectively as a Foundation Trust and in a competitive environment 
- To lead the budget setting process, liaising with locality managers and directors, ensuring this is completed in a timely and accurate manner in conjunction with other Management Accountants, for designated localities / directorates 
- To provide detailed analysis as necessary for external bodies, including commissioners, other Trusts, Social Services and the Department of Health, and to build and maintain good working relationships with these parties 
- To assist with the Trust's Financial Accounts as required 
-  Assist in providing detailed analysis and commentary on the progress of the Cost Improvement programmes, attending the Finance Committee meetings if required 
- To lead detailed financial analytical review of performance and service within service areas, ensuring value for money and efficiencies are maximised and to monitor progress relating to achievement of Local Delivery Plan Targets (Business plan) 
- To be responsible for providing a comprehensive financial management and accounting service for all aspects of the specified areas for which the post holder is responsible. This will involve giving advice and financial assistance to locality / directorate managers, senior managers and other staff and be the primary link person within the Finance Department for those areas 
- To provide a comprehensive and customer oriented management accounting service both in terms of producing prompt budget statements and providing other information and advice as required, particularly with regard to advising on the financial implications of service changes and developments 
- To provide timely and accurate financial information to the Principal Management Accountant and Head of Finance and Reporting, providing detailed commentary on variances and proposed remedial actions where required 
- To uphold high standards of confidentiality and to be aware of the contents of the Trust's policy on employee data 
- To produce and present high level and detailed reports and to provide financial support and advice for senior management teams, locality managers, lead clinicians, Directors and any other Trust members as required
- Maintain and manage the Trusts scheme of recorded delegated financial responsibilities to ensure that budget managers have appropriately delegated powers to undertake trust business, in line with recognised corporate governance and risk 
- People Management. Manage those in a direct reporting relationship, ensuring personal development, retention and recruitment is conducted within the Trust framework. 

Development &amp; Training Education Other Features of Job/ Special Requirements: 
- Qualifications CCAB qualified Graduate or equivalent 
- Evidence of continual professional development 

Knowledge &amp; Experience 
- A minimum of 3 years CCAB experience 
- In-depth knowledge of and relevant experience within a Management Accounts environment Some staff management experience 
- Expert in excel 

RISK MANAGEMENT/ HEALTH &amp; SAFETY 
The post holder has a responsibility to themselves and others in relation to managing risk, health and safety and will be required to work within the policies and procedures as laid down by the Trust. All staff have a responsibility to access occupational health, other staff support services and/or any relevant others in times of need and advice. 

RECORDS MANAGEMENT 
The post holder has responsibility for timely and accurate record keeping where appropriate and in line with professional guidelines. The post holder has responsibility for the creation, maintenance and storage of records in accordance with Trust policy, including email documents and with regard to the Data Protection Act, The Freedom of Information Act and other relevant statutory requirements. Training will be provided in appropriate information management for the post.

The post holder is required to maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with professional and Trust policy. The post holder may access information only on a need to know basis in the direct discharge of duties and divulge information only in the proper course of their duties.
