Business Development Manager

Job purpose
Direct sales of company products to achieve growth targets.

Primary Duties and responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities - to sell the full range of the companys’ products into existing and new markets. Increase the customer base and cross-sell in order to grow the sales revenue of the company, in a planned and logical way.
• Sell existing company products into existing clients (Existing / Existing)
o Identify opportunities and cross-sell our full product range of products into existing clients to increase sales revenue.
• Sell existing company products into new clients (Existing / New)
o Utilise company databases to identify and target new potential clients and sell the full range of existing products to them.
o Research and identify new potential clients that are not in the database and sell the full range of existing products to them.
• Sell new company products into existing clients (New / Existing)
o Sell new products released by the company into existing clients
o Identify the needs of existing clients and sell them our full range of products
• Sell new company products into new clients (New / New)
o Identify new clients that are not in the database and sell our new products to them
o Carry out research to identify potential new markets and opportunities for growth within which you can sell its existing / future products

Additional Duties and responsibilities
• Follow company Sales Procedures in all areas specifically including but not limited to:
o Customer account plans.
o Monthly sales forecasting on a customer by customer basis.
o Reporting of sale progression against plan.
o Monitoring of customer actual sales achieved versus forecast.
• Update and maintain systems (CRM, Excel spreadsheets, databases etc) to ensure that all sales activity and matters related to clients is accurate and up to date.
• Delivery of the sales targets allocated to each sales focal area.
• Attend face to face and conference call meetings with clients as appropriate to the role.
• Accurate and detailed Sales handover to account management within the business.
• International travel to meet clients as instructed by / agreed with the Managing Director.
• Attend domestic and international Trade Shows as required by the company

Qualifications / Role requirements
• Desired - Degree level.
o Relevant Business degree for the position.
• Additional - A nationally recognised sales qualification or equivalent
o City & Guilds
o Evidenced in-house sales training.
• Minimum - GCSE level C or above including
o Maths and English Language.
Demonstrable & reference able experience of at least 3 years in a Business Development role.
Ideally selling technical / physical goods on behalf of a manufacturing organisation.

• Has the ability to suggest / make improvements to processes and procedures.
• Willing to learn / develop their skills.

Physical requirements
The role is full time and is a combination of Office and field based with my clients headquarters located in Baldock, Hertfordshire

There are no specific physical requirements for completion of the role

Monday to Friday 9-5.30pm

BONUS paid quarterly up to £17,000 per annum
