Quantity Surveyor - Stevenage

Our client are looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with commercial build experience, who are looking to progress their careers by joining a growing team in Stevenage. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established office with an expanding client base with projects throughout north and central London varying from five to ten million in price. The successful candidate will be joining an expanding business with exciting plans for the future with opportunity of excellent career development supported by varied and challenging workloads and upcoming commercial projects.

Candidates must be degree qualified (BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent) and ideally Commercial MGMT, with 3-5 years’ experience and able to demonstrate a proven track record.

Experience required

• Strong Quantity Surveying knowledge base throughout Pre and Post construction phases
• Composing variation /change control
• Tender submissions and interviews
• Cost-value reconciliation reporting
• Experience in a client facing role
• Ability to challenge constructively and deliver client led targets
• Ability to clearly articulate project needs on a scheme by scheme basis
• Final account prep and agreement
• Meeting project targets and expectations
• Experience of commercial projects from inception to completion
• Claim documentation and dispute settlement
• S/C comparisons & procurement

Personal skills required

• IT – Word, Outlook, Excel, Specific software
• Fluent English and punctual
• Communication
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Team player
• Work off own initiative
