Warehouse Manager

Our client are currently looking to recruit an experienced Warehouse Manager for these warehousing operation

An opportunity has arisen within their modern, fast paced central distribution warehouse to ensure operational objectives are fulfilled and customer service levels met to high expectations whilst ensuring all customer deliveries are fulfilled.

The Manager will work closely with the team leaders to lead, manage and develop the workforce, driving efficiency's whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement and improve business performance.

Job Description
You will plan and expedite the effective and efficient control of the warehouse, receipt and dispatch operations

Ensure that labour cost of warehouse activities as described in the budget template fall within targeted costs through the implementation of robust control mechanisms

Ensure productivity and compliance to contractual requirements through the achievement of specific KPI's

Align and maintain the outbound delivery schedule with the transportation schedule

Prioritise out of stocks throughout the inbound process

Ensure put away and replenishment schedules are in line with production needs- Knowledge and experience in a pick and pack environment is essential

Manage the reverse logistics process (customer returns) within agreed rules and timescales

Enforces special handling procedures for relevant stock items

Monitor productivity performance and agreed KPIs and ensure targets are met or exceeded

Implement warehouse optimisation activities to reduce warehouse costs and maximise productivity

monitors performance against agreed targets and re-adjusts plans for continuous improvement

Prepare and maintain a staffing plan ensuring properly trained cover for holidays, sickness and absence

Investigate customer services issues, provides prompt feedback and implement remedial actions to prevent similar issues

Maintain all inventory management procedures related to Goods in and out processes in line with company guidelines

Ensure the department meets all Health & Safety requirements and Direct Reports are aware of their responsibilities

Ensure compliance to standard operating procedures

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for this post will thrive in a fast paced, busy environment, will have well developed engagement and communication skills and a desire to drive improvement initiatives; will be highly organised with the ability to analyse data to identify areas for improvement and have a demonstrable track record of managing a team to achieve business objectives and of implementing change to drive CI initiatives

You should also be able to clearly demonstrate:

•A track record of continuous improvement in a Distribution/Warehouse environment.
•Experience of managing a team of considerable size including staff at supervisory level
•The use of warehouse management systems
•Effective leadership and staff development
•Experience of managing budgets

What's on Offer

Monday to Friday -day shift

28 days annual holiday entitlement increasing with service

Salary 28,000 -30,000 k
