Finance Assistant - Leeds

Jark Bradford Ltd Commercial Division are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Finance assistant to work in Leeds city centre, to assist the Finance Manager with the company’s day-to-day credit control and purchase ledger

Our client is an established global distributor of lubricants & consumables, components & spares, repair and maintenance, safety & GSE, Tooling and Tyres for the aviation industry. They partner over 100 major OEMs in distributing their products in over 80 countries.

Duties to include
•To carry out all activities as required by management and implement the firm's credit control policy with customers
•Preparing aged debtor list and making sure all customers have paid accounts as
per the terms of trading in order to improve the company's cash position
•Chasing customers for payment via phone and email
•Liaising with teams internally to resolve customer invoicing queries
•Preparing monthly statements for customers
•Ongoing investigation into why old invoices are not paid
•Raise credit notes to customer
•Monitor outstanding balance against set credit limit and escalate to line manager when limit exceeded
•Allocation of incoming payments from customers
•Performing Credit checks on new customer
•Setting up new business partner on SAP
•Review sales invoices, ensure default VAT codes and GL codes are correct

Purchase Ledger
•Entering purchase invoices and employee expenses on SAP
•Liaising with supplier for pricing error or disputed invoice for credit note/refund
•Reconcile supplier statements
•Cross checking Intercompany sales and purchase orders
•Assisting with month end
•Ad-hoc tasks including additional reporting

GENERAL:

•Compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures, including Health and Safety
•Ensure the Company Quality process is adhered to and report any nonconformities
•Attend internal and external meetings, as required
•Attend or complete mandatory training, as required
•Ensure a positive contribution to Company culture and work effectively with all colleagues
•Take ownership of individual job role, associated tasks and personal conduct
•Provide and receive 360 feedback respectfully and constructively
•Apply a continual improvement attitude to daily tasks and a commitment to personal development
•Maintain a positive attitude and uphold the highest standard of customer service
•Any duties or responsibilities required of the role or Company

Hours of work are 37.5 per week

Salary £22,000 - £24,000 DOE

This is a permanent role based in Leeds city centre.
