Professional Development Coach

COACH - TRAINER - IT - BIRMINGHAM

The Role:
My client are looking for a peripatetic coach (with own car) to work with Tech and Digital Sector This Sector Apprentices. Prior Work Experience in the Tech and Digital Sector or in the Apprenticeships Delivery Sector is an advantage, but neither is necessary. You MUST want to help TDM to help to close Britain’s Workforce Productivity Gap.

You will do this by:

Working with a caseload of 90 apprentices to help them embed into their careers – each apprentice must be visited in their workplace once per quarter (ie 30 x 1 hour visits per month)
Ensuring / auditing that the Tech Coaches are developing each Apprentice’s skills and knowledge
working with the apprentices’ employers to ensure that they are developing the necessary underpinning skills, attitudes and behaviours which they will need to retain their employed posts beyond their apprenticeship programme.

Accountabilities:
Reporting to the company's Quality and Compliance Manager and/or the Directors, you will be accountable for:
Serving as Safeguarding Rep for All learners
Serving as IAG Rep for all Learners (providing impartial Information, Advice and Guidance)
Signing up apprentices in their workplaces, setting them up on the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) and their first day in Learning course
Conducting Exit and Progress Review visits.
Coaching apprentices to improve their employability attitudes and behaviours
Coaching apprentices to improve their functional skills (English, Maths and ICT)
Coaching apprentices in response to National Priority Agendas
Auditing and RAG-rating Work-Based Learning Plans + reporting issues to the Support and Quality Improvement Team
Visiting and coaching 30 apprentices/employer mentors per month (1-2 hours per visit) in order to monitor progress on, set new tasks for and update the Work-Based, Individual Learning Plan.
Scheduling, arranging and invigilating Test days & Examination events for Gateway, Threshold and End-Point Assessment requirements
Employer / Learner Satisfaction Surveys (& consequent performance improvements)
Delivering Informational presentations in universities, colleges and schools.
Delivering Sector Awareness and Initial Assessment days for apprenticeship applicants in Training Centres (Worcester and Birmingham)
Delivering Induction Courses for new apprenticeship starts
Delivering Functional Skills Training (online and in classrooms) – ensuring that ALL learners are continuously developing + All learners hold at least a Level 2 Qualification in English and Maths
Delivering training on National Priority Agendas (eg Equality and Diversity, Core British Values, Prevent Agenda, Safeguarding, etc.)
Producing, negotiating (with Directors) and distributing monthly “Employability Skills” newsletters to our client employers and learners.
Other Employability Coaching tasks as determined by Directors / Managers

Key Performance Indicators:
Apprenticeship retention rates @ 90%+ (Currently 94%)
Employer Satisfaction @ 90% Good or Better
Learner Satisfaction @ 90% Good or Better

Salary and Conditions:
Salary range is £22k-£28k (+Negotiable for the right person). This starting salary is open to review on a quarterly basis (ie if you are increasing the value of your contribution to the company, you will naturally ask for more salary).

24 days paid holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays.
Pension plan.
My client will pay for qualifications needed by this role (eg QTLS status, Safeguarding, IG Quals, etc). Subsequent length of service will be expected in order to ensure we receive a return on our investment into your training.
The Company runs annual incentive schemes depending on KPI success for different teams.
