An exciting opportunity has arisen for a portfolio lead who wants to play a leading role in reshaping our local economy and forging better futures for millions of people.
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Portfolio Management Office (PMO) oversees the £1bn+ portfolio of programmes and projects. The PMO has responsibility for ensuring that only schemes which meet the strategic aims of the organisation and have a robust commercial, economic, financial and management case are developed and delivered and they are carried out within the agreed time, cost and quality framework.
We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic Portfolio Lead to join our PMO team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
•Managing a team responsible for developing, implementing, embedding and maintaining the Leeds City Region Assurance Framework.
•Ensuring the consistent application of approach to governance, evaluation, risk, issue, outcome / benefit, change and interface management
•Management of the Programme Appraisal Team meetings and reporting to the Investment Committee and Combined Authority.
•Designing, implementing and maintaining the systems required for delivering the objectives of the PMO to support the Combined Authority in achieving its vision.
•Being a visible and enthusiastic manager, encouraging partnership working across the organisation and influencing, developing and motivating your team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate who has experience in the assurance, governance or management of portfolios or large programmes. Alternatively we would welcome applications from candidates who have a track record of successful project delivery, project appraisal and / or project assurance and as a result could apply their skills to the Combined Authority’s portfolio management
Hours of work are: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5pm
Pay Rate £20.79 per hour
