Environmental Monitoring Technician

My client based in Pershore, Worcestershire is looking to recruit an Environmental Monitoring Technician on a Permanent basis.

The main responsibility for this role is to collecting samples from the landfill, analysing the data and producing reports.
As a suitable candidate you will have a degree level qualification (preferably environmental of some description) and be willing to work towards the WAMITAB (CoTC Landfill) if not already qualified.

As a suitable candidate you will be expected to take responsibility for the following:

- To ensure sampling and analysis of waters, waste, leachate and gas are carried out in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures/landfill permit
- assist the Landfill Manager in the analysis of data and the preparation of the Annual Environmental Report
- Comply with H & S, Environmental Permits and planning requirements
- Assist the Landfill Manager with the overall running of the site as required
- Monitor Compost Plant, alerting Management of non-compliant readings
- Arrange Cover for the Weighbridge duties as required

The person specification for the role includes

- previous experience in a similar role
- Some flexibility over weekend work on an ad-hoc basis as and when required
- The nature of this role involves collecting samples from all over the landfill site, you would be expected to spend some of the working day outside in inclement weather
- Driving license is essential
- Good IT skills including MS Office

This role is predominantly Mon-Fri 0830-1700 and the salary on offer is up to £30,700
